Education
According to a Gallup poll, in 2020, more than half of the US population advocates for abortion rights. Approximately 125,000 lives are lost to abortion each day and physicians as a whole are not upholding the Hippocratic oath and are “doing harm.”
At FMPFL, we strive to educate members of the University of Virginia and the surrounding Charlottesville community on the terrible realities of abortion and the harm that it causes. What defines being human? When do human rights begin? We know that the answer here is a simple. “at conception.”
Community Aid
Those who are pro-abortion often presume that the anti-abortion population only wants to protect the child. At FMPFL, we emphatically disagree. Of course, the preborn child is a priority, but it is important to empower mothers and fathers by providing assistance that is both practical and life-affirming.
We aim to be effective community partners in three main ways:
(1) Volunteering at our local Pregnancy Resource Center;
(2) Establishing a Pregnant and Parenting Student Scholarship (in process);
(3) Referring to free or affordable resources that are available to parents within the Charlottesville area.
Activism/Volunteering
Education must be paired with action to be effective. FMPFL has partnered with other pro-life organizations, such as Students for Life of America and Standing With You, to work on our initiatives together at a larger scale. We also are involved in tabling on Grounds at various locations, are involved in local door-knocking campaigns to advertise free resources, and plan to host peaceful rallies outside of local abortion facilities.
One of our other goals is to attend the National March for Life in Washington, D.C. this coming January. Please consider donating to support our initiatives. If you would like to find out how, please send us an email.
